General Overview of Experience Very hospital. Day starts at 0745 sharp. Arrive any earlier and your wasting your time. 0800, head of pilot hiring gives you an overview of the day with expectations. Everyone there is routing for you and is very helpful, calming, and ensure you’ve got plenty of water, coffee, and snacks. Do some HR interview prep, KNOW every detail on your app, and study Aero for Naval Aviators and Pilot’s Handbook for Aeronautical Knowledge. RST quizzes will validate whether you have a good baseline. Your comfort with RST will reflect on JKT.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? No
How many internal recs did you have? 0
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 8 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No issues
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? Aero for Naval Aviators and Pilot’s Handbook for Aeronautical Knowledge. Take RST ground school and quizes. Last bank is massive so you truly must understand the concepts of Aero, holding, turbine engines, WX, and basic pilot math. Highly suggest Luminosity app to keep testing your brain for COG like activities.
Technical Test Questions Many very similar to RST but just different enough that the concept baseline was there.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Some oddly worded compressor stall scenario that didn’t seem to have a completely correct answer option.
Cog Test Read the directions twice. There is a practice set for just about every quiz. Ask a question if you don’t understand the directions! Once you start, it’s game time. The directions and practice are before each separate quiz so you have plenty of start fresh time between. Much easier than I thought it would be.
Cog Math Questions Simple! 2 cans of peaches cost XX and 2 cans of pears cost XX. What’s the total bill?
HR Questions Pulls events straight from app. No-one knows you like you. Very open dialog. TMAAT you had a challenge in college (referenced my early bad grades and how I learned to use study groups/tutors).
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 1 month
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC
Any additional information you would like to add. Great experience
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
