General Overview of Experience | American was very laid back and welcoming. The people were very friendly and wanted all of us to be able to join. It was my job to loose. |
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? | 12 months + |
Did you attend a job fair? | No |
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? | Not really. I received an interview invite to AA and Delta within a week of each other. The only thing I could think of was it was right as I hit 5000 TT. |
How many internal recs did you have? | 1-2 |
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? | 2 weeks |
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? | No. The only thing they seemed annoyed with were the instruction papers that were part of the PRIA paperwork. They only wanted the signed papers. |
Technical Test Questions | Nothing that any pilot shouldn’t be able to answer. |
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? | What is your thought process in a hold situation from LGA to DFW with storms over DFW holding over LIT with your alternate west of DFW. They wanted a thought process that had plan B C and D. Diversion airports filling up with all the other planes diverting, so make a decision quickly and still have another if that one falls through. |
HR Questions | How would you tell the passengers about a runway change or delay on the ground. Looking for normal people terms and precise and to the point info. Not aviation jargon but informative. |
Cog Test | I took the cog test at least 2 months before the interview invite so I guess it was successful. I received no feedback at the time that it wasn’t. |
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? | 1-2 weeks |
How did you prep? | RST/- HR prep/simulator and podcasts |
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? | N/A |
Any additional information you would like to add. | They said in November of 2021 that they were looking to hire 2000+ in 2022 and that many of them were going to have to come from outside of the flow. |
Is there anything you wish you could have done differently to prepare you for this process? | N/A |
