TPIC 121 hours 0
TPIC Military hours >2000

General Overview of Experience Very professional experience all around, though this was my first Airline interview. Went very much per the script of the previous trip reports.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Internal rec email to hiring department about 6 months before listed availability
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 8 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? None.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST 15 day checklist pretty much twice. did the ground schools and practice tests too.
Technical Test Questions Too much of a blur. Many were worded in such a way that I could only narrow it down to two choices and had to go with best guess from there. Very happy I had studied as much as I did as it helped me to know I had at least done my best even though I felt like I probably missed half of the questions.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? I can’t remember anything specific. Most of it followed concepts from RST but worded in such a way that you weren’t quite sure what they were asking or which answer was best. Note: I was writing down answers I wasn’t sure of to go back and quickly realized i had too many to get back to. When you go back it only goes back 1 problem at a time and it takes the computer a little while so, if that is your plan, you need to leave a bit of time at the end to get back to the beginning. I would recommend answering your best the first time so if you can’t get back to it at least its not blank
Cog Test I got a couple of hacks at the RST version before it was gone. i did the extended helps that RST sent me once I was within 2 weeks one time. The Cog was not too bad. Use the practice options on the test to make sure you understand it.
Cog Math Questions pretty basic math. I used the answers to help figure a couple of them out.
HR Questions why / what is this major from college?
How will you handle a Captain that is younger than you?
You have a Sr FO who is doing your items, how do you handle? They don’t stop? They do stop but are quiet? they start doing them again two flights later?
You are on final to a night, mountainous location. clear but some ground fog. You can see through it and as you get close to the ground it obscures your vision but you think it will be brief because it was thin. What would you do? Of course I went around, but used this as a time to talk about the thought process from then on…will it dissipate? once we land I would be the one to stand there and take the passenger looks and questions.
How do you handle a mechanical problem? what are your thoughts?
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? did emerald coast seminar x3 in last 2 years. did 1 webinar and 1 top off.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC. absolutely. though I never got a question I felt I had a perfect story for. The ECIC just taught me how to think through and remember to bring in the whole team. brief the FAs before the passengers etc.
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
