Which Airline did you interview with? UPS
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? 3 months
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? NA
What is your experience? 121 only
Total Flight Time Greater
Total Turbine PIC Time >2,000
General Overview of Experience Was great. I enjoyed every bit of the interview.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? Yes
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Job Fair. I know nobody at UPS. I had exactly 0 recommendations. The only way I got this was my brief interaction with the interview team at the FAPA job fair. So I am living proof you can get hired at UPS with no internals
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 2 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? None. Paperwork was very laid back.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST Hogan prep. Is a must.
Technical Test Questions None except the standard fuel calculation in the sim.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? None
Cog Test
Cog Math Questions
HR Questions All the stuff I was asked has already been said in previous gouge. I would only add things like…They asked me how many pax my aircraft holds(+300), then they asked how many customers are on a UPS plane? You better say a lot more. After talking about how critical it is for the flight operation to run on time (think express critical could be moving life critical donor tissue) he set up a situation where I come across a mom and two kids stranded by a country highway in the middle of the night on my way to work. Helping them will delay or cancel the flight. No standbys or reserves. Do you leave them by the side of the road or do you delay the operation?? (integrity of course not)
Those really were the only two questions that were different than what I had previously studied here.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? Two weeks
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Adam Hughes. It was good. I didn’t do sim prep.
Any additional information you would like to add. Do not under any circumstances indicate you might leave your current employer without the required notice they ask for. I Know someone who said “I can be here tomorrow if you need me to” and he wasn’t hired.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? I might have done sim prep just to make sure I got the highest score for the pool. My flyin was OK but far from perfect.
